Julie used to be a teacher of art and about ten years ago she began to explore photography.  Self taught, she has experimented with many different subjects and styles, but most of all she enjoys making photos of still life and flowers.  She is known for imaginative post-processing and sometimes adds artistic effects with textures.

In November 2020 she submitted a panel of fifteen creative photos on the theme of ‘Fruits of the Earth’ and was awarded Associate of the Royal Photographic Society.

Her portrait ‘Autumn Child’ was picked to represent Great Britain in the FIAP Colour Biennial in Paris, March 2021. This was also one of two prints of Julie’s chosen to be exhibited by  Yorkshire Photographic Union at the National Science and Media Museum.

In May, she held a solo exhibition of  ‘Fruits of the Earth’ at the Yorkshire Arboretum.
